1. What kind of teacher did Margie and Tommy have?

Ans:1)Margie and Tommy had a mechanical teacher. Their teacher was large, black and ugly and had a large black screen on which they learn their lesson and questions were asked to them.

2. Why did Margie's mother send for the County Inspector?

Ans:2)Margie has given many tests in Geography by the mechanical teacher, but there was no improvement in her performance. It was going worst so, for this reason, Margie's mother brought the county inspector to know the exact reason for her poor performance.

They had a slot in which student had to put their homework and test paper. They had to write their answers in a punch code and the mechanical teacher calculated the marks immediately. Their schools were in their home particular room itself. They did not have any classmate, they have different subjects like Geography, History and Arithmetic. They have a regular hour school at home at the same time by the mechanical teacher, except Saturday and Sunday.

2. Why did Margie hate school? Why did she think the old kind of school must have been fun?

Ans:2)Margie hate school because for her there was no fun doing same thing at the same time alone in her home, she was not having friends, only she was alone doing her studies with the mechanical teacher.

        She thinks the old kind of school must have fun because, at the old-time, studies were done combine in the school in a particular class where all students of the same standard studies, there was a teacher with them who talk and help them in different ways. The teacher provides them with homework, classwork etc. She thinks that doing a class like old days will have lots of fun as you will never fill loneliness as with you there will all your friends so, for this reason, she think that the old school must be lots of fun.
